1.科目のねらい・目標
Participants in this course will study and use English in an English-speaking country (England or Australia).
The course aims to develop:
- Communication skills, particularly in spoken English
- An international outlook, through awareness and understanding of a different culture
- Confidence and independence
It is also hoped that this will be an enjoyable and memorable experience for those who take part.
2.授業計画・内容・方法・準備学習等
- Before leaving Aomori, participants will attend a number of orientation sessions to prepare for the visit overseas.
- On arrival in England or Australia, there will be a placement test so that participants can join classes at the appropriate level.
- During the 3 weeks of the visit, there will be 60 hours of English lessons, taught in small classes.
- Participants will stay with host families and will be provided with a single room, breakfast and evening meal.
- The schools offer a programme of optional visits.
England: Depart 19 February 2021. Return 14 March 2021 (early spring in England)

5.成績評価方法
Assessment will be performed by teachers from Aomori University of Health and Welfare, with 60% of the final mark for achievement in English and 40% for social and cultural participation and development. A diary in English will be written during the course and an interview in English will be carried out during the final days of the course. Students' social and cultural activities will be monitored through daily contact and through their diaries.

This course is very sensitive to student feedback, and in the past this has prompted changes of destination, timing and course delivery. The current format has proved very popular with participants.

※この科目は、実務経験のある教員による科目である。
The cost of the course will be announced nearer the time and will include travel, home stay and English classes.
To ensure small classes, it may be necessary to limit the number of participants for each destination. In this case, places will be allocated by lottery once registration for the course has closed.
